Early Life:
Rishi Sunak was born on May 12, 1980, in Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom to parents Yashvir and Usha Sunak. His parents belong of Indian Punjabi descent. His father Yashvir Sunak was born in Kenya and he is a general physician. And, his mother was born in Tanzania and runs a Pharmacy in Southampton.
Rishi’s grandfathers were born in Punjab province, British India, and migrated to East Africa.
He studied at Stroud School, in Romsey, and in Winchester College. Rishi Sunak attended Lincoln College, Oxford, and studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Then he received an MBA from Stanford University.
Career:
Rishi Sunak worked at Goldman Sachs, an American multinational investment bank between 2001 and 2004. In 2015, he became the Member of Parliament as a Conservative candidate.
On October 25, 2022, he was appointed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom by King Charles III.
Personal life
Rishi Sunak married Akshata Murty, a fashion designer, venture capitalist, and the daughter of the Indian billionaire N. R. Narayana Murthy. The duo met while studying at Stanford University. Together the couple has two daughters Krishna Sunak and Anoushka Sunak.
