Early Life
Kari Lake was born on August 23, 1969, in Illinois, the United States to parents Larry A. Lake and Sheila A. Lake. Her father was a teacher and football and basketball coach and her mother was a nurse.
She was raised in Iowa and studied at North Scott Senior High School in Eldridge, Iowa. Then Kari received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in communications and journalism.
Career
The aspired female politician began her television journey with KWQC-TV in Davenport, Iowa in 1991. A big part of her anchoring career, she interviewed President Donald Trump in 2020 and President Barack Obama in 2016.
At first, she joined the Republican Party and remained until November 3, 2006, then switched to Democrat on January 4, 2008. Finally, she moved to the Republican Party on January 31, 2012, and got the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial nomination. She loses to Katie Hobbs in the Arizona governor race in the 2022 US election.
Personal Life
Kari Lake married Tracy Finnegan, an electrical engineer in 1991. In August 1998, she married Jeff Halperin. She has two children.
